About course title

With at least two years’ experience of working in the accident repair sector of the automotive industry,  skilled welders can undertake this Level 2 course in Resistance Spot Welding and MAG Welding to demonstrate their competence at producing acceptable MAG fillet and butt welds including in the vertical up and overhead positions to meet BS4872-1 requirements. Learners will also be able to demonstrate their skills in setting up welding equipment for both MAG and resistance spot welding; assess MAG welds for visible defects; complete a series of resistance spot welds to meet BS1140 requirements and assess resistance spot welds for visible defects.

Things you need to know

  • After you book your course with us, you will receive an enrolment pack relevant to your course, please check these carefully before the day as it will give you all the information on what to bring.

    In the majority of cases, you will need to present some form of photographic ID which could include a driving licence or passport. You will also be required to supply certain PPE.

  • The PPE that you will need to bring with you varies for each course. It will usually consist of overalls, safety boots and occasionally respiratory equipment such as an air fed mask. Following your course registration we will send you a list of the correct PPE to bring with you.

  • If the duration of your training lasts for a full working day, we are able to provide you with a complimentary lunch. For all courses, there is an unlimited supply of hot and cold drinks which are available to you at any time throughout your stay with us.

  • There are a limited amount of car parking spaces outside the training centre. If possible, it is advisable to car share with colleagues who may be attending the same training.
