What PSA offer students
Peterborough Skills Academy offer a range of courses for students such as:
An apprenticeship is a real job with training which would allow them to earn while they learn, whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeships are available to anyone over the age of 16, living in England. There are different entry requirements depending on the sector and job.
Benefits of doing an apprenticeship:
Earning a salary
Training in the skills employers want
Excellent progression opportunities, whether looking to study further or climb the ranks within the workplace
Increased future earning potential
Learning at a pace suited to the individual with the support of a mentor
Traineeships are an ideal opportunity for young people, aged 16 to 24, who are motivated to get a job but lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for.
Those who have been unsuccessful when applying for an apprenticeship or other job due to a lack of skills and experience are most likely be good candidates for a traineeship.
